    exquisite antique French sterling silver napkin ring is designed in the
    Neoclassic
    style with garlands of roses and flowers executed in the “
    repoussé
    ” technique. It is has a shield shaped cartouche ornamented with branches of acanthus leaves and engraved with the name “
    Mireille
    ”. It bears the French “
    Minerve
    Premier
    Titre
    ” hallmark, indicating the highest quality of French sterling silver (950/1000), used in Paris since 1838. The

    is the guarantee that the sterling is at least 95% silver. It also bears the maker’s mark of
    Jules-Alfred
    Tranchant
    consisting of the initials “A.” and “T.” surrounding the image of a bee.
