    Description

Presented is a RARE antique set of 4 PURE SILVER sake cups made by the world renowned Kintano Hattori.
Each cup is beautifully engraved with either a floral, cherry blossom, or bamboo depiction, signed and hallmarked K. Hattori, and stamped Pure Silver.  The combined pure silver weight of the cups is approximately 79 grams. They are encased in their original 19th century Pacific cloth and velveteen casket. Both cups and casket were made between 1881 to early 1900 when Hattori opened a jewelry shop in the Ginza area of Tokyo, Japan. Hattori went on to create and manufacture the famous Seiko brand of timepieces and watches in the early 20th century.
These rare pure silver cups are in very good antique condition. They have some tarnishing which I will leave to the new owners discretion as to polish or not. The container casket has some deterioration of the outer Pacific cloth and inner velveteen lining which is to be expected after 100 years. The back double hinge is missing its supports, but works perfectly. The front closure is in its entirety and working perfectly. Please refer to photos as they are a part of this item's description.
The container casket measures 2-7/8 in L x 1-5/8 in W at the top. It narrows to follow the shape of the sake cup to 1-1/4 in.
The depth at the top is 1-5/8 in and narrows to 1-1/8 in at the bottom.
Silver cups measure 1-13/16 in High x 1-1/4 in Opening diameter x 7/8 in w at bottom base.
These late19th to very early 20th century pieces will make a remarkable addition to any collection of silver, Japanese, or Hattori antiques.
