Nice example of a small bore exploratory drill core sample with snow white Calcite (SW/UV red)
and crystals of Franklinite with minor Willemite (SW/UV green).  Sample drilling was used to determine the direction of the mining to intercept the primary ore body.
From the Sterling Hill Zinc Mine, Ogdensburg, Sussex County, New Jersey.
Small cabinet size specimen - 2.3 inches long by 0.8 inches in diameter
Weight - 2.2 oz

Must be viewed with a short wave ( 254 nm ) ultraviolet lamp.
Pictures taken with a 12 MP camera and a 9 watt Way Too Cool short wave UV lamp.
