+++About Hagi ware+++
Famous as a pottery (a pottery for use in tea ceremony), pottery was developed as a pottery for Mr. Mouri, who possessed the two kingdoms of Suo and Nagato in the Edo period, and its history is more than 400 years ago Bungei first year (1592) dates back to Toyotomi Hideyoshi's Korean troops. During the Azuchi-Momoyama period, Oda Nobunaga and Toyotomi Hideyoshi protected Senrikyu and controlled the tea ceremony exclusively. Since the tea ceremony was greatly developed as a status symbol, the demand for tea utensils also increased. When Hideyoshi's Korean troops "Bungei / Keicho's role" were invited to invite "technical potters", the kingdom of Western countries took many Korean potters back to Japan. This war is also called the "Yakimono War" because the invited potters created ceramics in various parts of western Japan such as Arita ware. Terumoto Mouri, who later became the founder of Tsuji, was also a Daimyo who was allowed to get close to Chanoyu from Hideyoshi and had a chance to interact with Sennorikyu and Oribe Furuta. Later, his brother Lee Takai was also invited. Terumoto, who lost the territory after losing the battle of Sekigahara in 5th year of Keicho (1600), will move from Hiroshima in Aki to the pass in Choshu. According to this, the brothers Lee, who had been entrusted to Terumoto, moved to Hagi, and the opening of the Hagi kiln in Matsumoto Village was the beginning of Hagi Yaki.
